Hon. Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, inaugurated new boards for Nigeria’s environmental agencies, urging action on climate change, desertification, flooding, waste, and biodiversity loss. This reflects a renewed commitment to sustainable development and resilience.
In a bold step toward addressing Nigeria’s urgent environmental issues, the Hon. Minister of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has officially inaugurated the newly appointed Chairmen and Members of the Governing Boards of various environmental agencies in a ceremony held in Abuja.
During the inauguration, the Minister laid out a clear mandate: Nigeria’s environmental leaders must actively tackle climate change, desertification, flooding, waste management, and biodiversity loss. These pressing issues must be addressed in alignment with both national environmental policies and international commitments such as the Paris Agreement
